I needed a place to park overnight after driving 20 MPH for 10 miles on I-10 due to a blowout. We called the KOA office and they said they would wait for us. I arrived at the office at 8:01 PM, the person showed up 10 minutes later and asked if I had been "wandering around". He also had a couple of other snide remarks during check-in. The park is run down and in a rough part of town. The rate reflects electrical only, I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed at the campground to attend a drag race, so the noise wasn't a problem for me. The fairgrounds are surrounded by multiple racetracks, shooting range, model airplane field so there is a potential for noise. As mentioned in other reviews this is a good overnighter without much in the way of services. On the weekends the RV office is closed so it is on the honor system. Since the office was closed there was no way to get access to the WiFi.

Rancho Sonora is a nice RV park with a small inn and casitas on the property. The park was mostly vacant an quiet as we camped here in the off-season. The park is well maintained and situated in a nice desert setting. There's a walking path through the desert which is nice early in the morning. The stars are bright as the park is well away from the city. The Wi-Fi worked well.

This was our first stay at the campground. The staff was friendly and helpful and the reservation process was efficient. The park and facilities were very clean. Very near hiking areas, places to shop and eat using a free shuttle. Kid and pet friendly. The WIFI and cable TV both worked great. The only negatives for us was the road construction and heavy traffic makes it not that enjoyable to get there and it is a noisy park.

Camping with a spectacular view of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Typical first come first serve state park. Lots of trails for riding bicycles or hiking. Bath/shower houses were very modern with tile walls and pine beam ceilings, very clean. Each campground area has a park host.

This is camping in a desert setting. Plenty of hiking and biking trails. The campsites are well maintained, bathrooms and showers were cleaned and serviced daily. The park is occasionally patrolled by the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office. If you are looking for a place to hike, ride a mountain bike, or just looking for some solitude then this is the park for you.
